METROPOLITAN
LEAGUE.
O.K.'S AMONG SEVEN CLUBS IN NEW ORGANISATION. Established for this season only as friendly competition among clubs able and desirous of continuing to play football, in spite of the suspension of operations on the part of the organisations to which they belonged at the outbreak of the war, the Metropolitan League has a membership of seven, all within a convenient circle comprising border portions of London, Middlesex and Surrey. The seven clubs are: The Old Kingstonians, Tooting, South Tooting, Summerstown, West Norwood, Wimbledon (and Southall- not mentioned in report). The meeting held to form the league at Winchester House, Old Broad-Street, London, on Friday evening last week, under the presidency of Mr. J. G. Lightfoot, L.F.A., the O.K.'s representatives being Mr. D. Judd (president) and Mr. C. Brookwell (Hon. Sec.). Mr. J. T. Clarke, 22, Sackville Gardens, The Drive, Ilford, who was some years ago a member of the FA. Council, and about 15 years ago hon. sec. of the Southern Suburban League, was appointed hon. Sec., and fixtures were arranged, the matches to be for points only, there being neither trophy nor medals offered in connection with the league. METROPOLITAN LEAGUE. The following clubs constitute the newly-formed Metropolitan Football League, the sole object of which is to provide the clubs with competition football for the season 1914-15 only:- Old Kingstonians, Southall, South Tooting, Summerstown, Tooting, West Norwood, and Wimbledon. Neither trophy nor medals will be awarded to the team winning the competition, nor will the clubs be required to pay a subscription to the league, the administrative expenses of which will be jointly defrayed by the clubs at the end of the season.
