THAN EIGHTY WOUNDS Q.M.- Sergeant Jos. Rowe, 1st Battalion East Surrey Regiment, a well-known local footballer, has returned to Kingston after recovering from 80 wounds received while in action at the front. The gallant soldier, who looks remarkably well after his trying experiences, reported at Kingston barracks on Monday for light duty on being discharged from hospital.Q.M.-Sergt Rowe played for the Kingston-on-Thames football club, and shone as a back, although often occupying a half-back position with credit.
