| Report on the moving of the Kingston Football Charity Festival from the Middlesex & Surrey Express dated 23 March 1895. |
|
I
am authoritatively informed that the Annual Kingston Football Charity
Festival has been postponed to Easter Saturday, April 13th.
See
report in original format.Mr. Secretary Lloyd (Kingston-on-Thames F.C.) rather complains of this postponement. The date was mutually arranged in time to appear on the fixture-card issued by his club, and now, within ten days of the date, comes a notice that the arrangement cannot be carried out. He, very naturally, does not wish for a repetition of last year's hurried scrambling, and the postponement will make it very difficult, if not impossible, to get a team. The first eleven close their season on March 30th and many of the players will, in all probability, be away at Easter, others do not always care to play at holiday-time, and for many reasons it seems a pity that this Festival should be shifted about. It is becoming an annual occurrence. |
