Report on a General Meeting of Kingston-on-Thames F.C. held on Wed 19 Sep 1894 from Middlesex & Surrey Express dated 22 September 1894.

THE ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL CLUB.
A general meeting of the members of this Club was held at the Cricketers' Inn on Wednesday evening, there being a very good attendance of members, Mr. J. P. Asher presiding.

The minutes of the last annual meeting having been read and passed, Mr. P. G. Lloyd (hon. secretary) read a letter from Mr. R. N. Ferguson, regretting his inability to be present. Messrs. White and Roper resigning their seats on the committee, their places were filled by Messrs. Woodgate and Humphreys.

The Chairman said he had been to a meeting of the Surrey Association that evening, and he was glad to see that Mr. W. G. Carn, the treasurer of the Club, had been elected a member. He had heard with much pleasure the success football was attaining in the Kingston Club, but he did not think they would win the Senior Cup this season, if they had to meet such a club as Reigate Priory in the first round. If they ever had a young promising player amongst them, it would give him great pleasure to submit him to the Council as a member for the County team. (Hear, hear.).

Mr. Craig, the Captain, said he was not at the committee meeting when it was proposed that they should enter for the Senior Cup, or he should have certainly opposed it, considering they played so badly in the Junior Cup last year. He proposed that they withdraw from the Senior Cup, Mr. H. Humphreys seconding. Mr. P. G. Lloyd moved, as an amendment, that they remain in, considering that they had paid their subscription and would lose it if they withdrew. On Mr. Craig's motion being put to the vote, it was lost by eight totes to seven.

Mr. Lloyd urged all members to play in club colours, as in a Cup match it would be very awkward for the referee to see about a dozen club colours. A hearty vote of thanks to the Chairman concluded the proceedings.
