KINGSTON WANDERERS v. STANLEY (A).-
The Wanderers journeyed to Putney to play the return match with the Stanley
club on Saturday, and were again badly beaten, the score at the finish
being eight goals to nil against them. The home team again played a perfect
combined game, and all the attempts of the Wanderers to check their victorious
career were unavailing.
A special word, however, must be given to Lanham, who time after time
kept out the shots which rained in thick and fast upon him. McDonald and
Collins were also prominent in defence, but the team as a whole were so
outclassed, criticism of the play was quite disarmed.
Wanderers: F. C. Lanham, goal; J. McDonald and A. Peck, backs; C. Collins,
P. G. Lloyd, and " A. Wanderer," half-backs; W. Ocock and J.
Ambler (right), S. Borlase (centre), A. Crowther and J. Kemp (left), forwards.
