SAXONS
v. WEYBRIDGE ROVERS (A).-
Played at Kingston on Saturday, resulting in a win for the Saxons by three
goals to nil. The Saxons played against the wind in the first half, but
held their own, and Dalgety scored. On crossing over they quite penned
their opponents, but owing to indecision in front of goal, only scored
twice (Jones and Sims). The game was rendered very unpleasant by the behaviour
of the Rovers, most of whom showed much greater proficiency in the use
of offensive language than they did in playing the game. The following
represented the Saxons: W. H. Chapman, goal; C. Heseltine and J. Bicknell,
backs; C. Collins, J. H. West, and A. Docker, half-backs; G. W. Jones
and J. Kemp (left), H. Dalgety, (centre), J. Sims and W. Ocock (right),
forwards.
