Pre War Ground and Action Photos



Billy Wright follows up on the Wimbledon Keeper in the Surrey Senior Cup 2nd Round tie at Wimbledon on 27th January 1923. Wimbledon won 3-1 in front of 7,765 people.

A home league match with Hampstead Town on 19th January 1924 which K's won 3-1. Harman (right) jumps for the ball with a Hampstead Town player but the ball goes behind both of them. Hampstead Town were later to become the modern day Hendon. The photograph appears to be at the opposite end to Richmond Road.

Another picture that appears to be taken at the opposite end to Richmond Road. This time for the match against Redhill on 26th January 1924 in the Surrey Senior Cup 2nd Round. Kingstonian won 2-1 in front of 3,000 fans.

Just before the first goal in a 2-1 league win at home to Barking on 25th October 1924. The Barking goalkeeper fails to save and Macey in the background is ready to pounce.

Kingstonian and West Norwood leave the Richmond Road changing rooms for the Second Half of a league game on 26th September 1925 that K's won 3-1.

A Reserve team picture from Easter 1926. This appears to be taken on the reserve team pitch with spectators on the banking able to see the main pitch as well.

A picture of the opening game of the 1926-1927 when K's, as winners of the Athenian League, took on a Rest of League team with the main stand at Richmond Road in the background. The match was played on 28th August 1926 resulting in a 2-2 draw.

Cecil Cockrell with a very straight looking jump in a league match at home to Uxbridge on 29th December 1928. K's won 5-2 with Cockrell getting the first goal. The picture shows the crowd on the opposite side of the ground to the main stand.

The opening match of the Amateur Cup winning season in 1932-1933. K's started in fine style with a 7-1 win over Nunhead at Richmond Road on 27th August 1932. The picture shows the Richmond Road end of the ground with 3,500 in attendance.
