report in original format.KINGSTONIAN F.C. Since the successful termination of the sports meeting the committee of Kingstonian F.C. have been busy in preparing the ground for the opening of the football season. Practice games and training will take place on the ground next. week, and, having regard to the players being signed on, there is every prospect of a very useful side being put in the field. It is hoped that the stand now on Thorpe-road ground may soon he removed to the new site, and the pitch properly enclosed. In addition to the team to play in the Athenian League, it is intended to run a reserve team of senior players, so that the ground should be occupied every Saturday by one, or other, of the elevens. The club's programme opens on Saturday, September 6, at Southall, with a League game, and on the following week West Norwood have to be met in the extra-preliminary round of the English Cup. Another League match away from home follows this, and, if the Kingstonians are successful, against West Norwood, the winners of Woking-Guildford tie have to be met- again away from home. Players desiring to take part in trial games are asked to communicate with the hon secretary, Mr. A. North, 10, Chesfield-road, Kingston, who will be pleased to receive applications for membership tickets (10s. 6d.), from any who are willing to assist to that extent in reviving the game in Kingston. |
